Green wool rugs are having a moment…

Modern Sage Green Living Room Rug

Lately there’s been much chatter amongst our rug dealers surrounding green rugs, and we’ve taken notice. With several requests for green-hued rug additions and custom orders (see the stunning dark green Brilliance rug below), an evident lean towards green is underway.

Thus, we’ve handpicked ten green wool rugs in a variety of styles and hues that celebrate greener living (in more ways than one).

Why green wool rugs?

The color green is synonymous with feelings of comfort and serenity, in turn, creating an environment conducive to stress relief. Further, with a diverse array of shades to choose from, the decor possibilities are infinite. Choosing a sage, emerald, mint or lime green rug each produce widely different results, hence the beauty of interior design. Aside from obvious associations the color has with nature, the organic texture of a green wool rug further reinforces this link. What’s more, wool is a highly durable natural fiber, perfect for high-traffic areas and comfort underfoot. Additionally, wool is biodegradable and decomposes at a significantly faster rate than plastics, making it a far more environmentally friendly option.

Lime Green Abstract Rug

Lime green is a zesty color that’s full of confidence. While decorating with a lime green rug can be intimidating, this energizing color-shade has the ability to produce transformative results. For instance, the abstract Nouveau Rug (see photo above), lends an element of surprise and visual interest to this contemporary living room.

Forest Green Rug

To achieve an earthier aesthetic, forest green is a popular shade that works well with neutrals such as beige, white and grey. For example, a forest green rug can add contrast within brighter spaces, without overpowering the overall decor scheme. The Pala Rug is inspired by cobbled beach pebbles, vegetation patterns and other textured surfaces found in nature. Thus, its quite fitting that this forest green rug is made with vegetable-dyed wool, in turn, bringing a piece of the outdoors, indoors.

Traditional Sage Rug

The decorative St. Lucia Rug marries soft sage and ivory hues that elicit a laid back elegance. Though traditional in style, this sage green rug can work to add personality and balance within modern spaces. Moreover, the rustic colors and floral motifs illicit thoughts of nature and feelings of serenity.

Dark Green Patterned Rug

Rugs with a repeating all-over pattern, such as Baltic, Forest serve as a solid foundation to build upon. What’s more, this dark green rug is handmade with vegetable dyed wool, making it a true product of nature.

Mint Green Nordic Rug

Mint green rugs are yet another interior design favorite, and for good reason. The color mint is a soothing option, that works in tandem with a wide variety of colors. Hence, why the Magnus Design is such a versatile rug choice. In contrast to the dark green couch, this inviting wool rug ties the room together, while keeping the space bright and airy.

Emerald Green Rug

Associated with elegance, emerald green is an awe-inspiring color that assumes regality. Case in point, the luxurious emerald-hued Alvaron Rug. What’s more, this beauty is handmade with metal-infused wool, that gives it a subtle shimmer to this intricate floral pattern.

Sage Green Rug

A sage green rug can work as a calming force within a space as shown in the contemporary living room above. Hand-knotted with a blend of wool and silk, Zuma offers a lovely shimmering effect depending on which angle the rug is viewed from. Further, sage rugs evoke feelings of tranquility and are perfect for rooms used for unwinding after a long day.

Patterned Sage Green Rug

The playful Milano Rug incorporates natural colors inspired by the landscapes of Kashmir, India. Together with its colorful pattern and sage green backdrop, Milano is a charming rug that’s perfect for bohemian decor.

Luxurious Wool and Silk Green Rugs

Brilliance is a showstopper and perhaps the most luxurious rug on the list, proving just how impactful the color green can be. To illustrate, the lime green and mint green colorways photographed above, evoke opposing moods within the same design. Nevertheless, both rugs are beautiful in their own right and ultimately, it’s a personal choice which road to take.

All in all, there are countless rugs ranging from dark green to sage that speak volumes.
